Jersey Stars Soccer Club offers young players between the ages of 3-14 years old (boys & girls) the opportunity to play soccer in a structured and competitive developmental league. The Jersey Stars Developmental League season includes weekly scheduled practices and games, along with tournament opportunities. All of our developmental teams are coached by experienced and knowledgeable Jersey Stars Soccer Club coaches and trainers.

The goal of the Developmental Program is to provide the best soccer development experience for our children so they can reach their maximum potential. To attain this objective, the program aims to instill an atmosphere of enthusiasm and appreciation for the sport of soccer, to promote good sportsmanship, and to develop the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes necessary to be quality soccer players.

What we intend to do and achieve:

• Provide exciting and developmental soccer opportunities for children from 3-14 years of age while catering to all ability levels.
• Foster enthusiasm and a love for the game of soccer, while teaching technical and tactical skills needed in the development process.
• Develop sportsmanship, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Assist players with ambitions to develop their skills to make our elite & travel teams.
• Develop deeper technical and some early tactical skills while enjoying higher levels of competition and having fun. These are the primary objectives. Jersey Stars SC uses the Developmental League as an introduction to the commitment required for travel soccer for both parents and players.

How we intend to achieve the above goals:

The Jersey Stars Soccer Club will offer our players the best program possible with the resources available. This will include organization of teams and game schedules, and coaching support for team coaches. We will implement the club’s philosophy and codes of conduct, as sports, and in particular soccer, are excellent tools for developing sportsmanship and other life skills.

We will achieve these goals by assisting players in applying what they learn at practice sessions and games throughout the Developmental program. We also offer camps and clinics to further develop skills, and more advanced coaching and call-ups to travel/elite teams for particularly talented players.

Age Groups/Gender:

Jersey Stars SC is generally available to children ages 3-14.

Team Selection:

Teams are grouped into divisions based on age, gender, and level of play.

Seasons:

Typically, there is a Fall (Outdoor), Winter (Indoor), and Spring (Outdoor) season.

Coaching:

Jersey Stars coaches can be paid professional coaches or parents with experience playing and a love for teaching the beautiful game. In either case, they must have coaching licenses.

Training:

Practices and/or training sessions are generally held once or twice per week, focusing on continuing to develop core soccer skills (dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting), along with other age-appropriate tactics and skills.
